"Moscow's biggest "long construction" has come to an end at "Paveletskaya". For many years there was a hole here, which complained about - absolutely legally - residents, drawing attention to the fact that with this ugliness must end", - said Sobyanin to journalists during the inspection of the park.
The mayor explained that several years ago the territory of the current park was seized from the owners who did not develop the site. With the help of a new investor - PIK group of companies - a different concept of the square arrangement was developed and construction works were carried out.
"A first-class public space is being created here, which will work for all the surrounding neighborhoods and will be the pride of our city," assured the capital's mayor.
"Paveletskaya Plaza shopping and entertainment center with a landscaped park is part of the Paveletskaya transport and interchange hub (TIH) project, which will unite passenger flows of metro, railroads and surface urban transport. It will also include offices and entertainment zones. Thus, the TPU will become not only a place of transfer, but also a center of business and urban activity", - Bochkaryov noted.
The press service of the Mayor and Government of Moscow reminded that the decision to build a shopping and entertainment center with a parking lot on Paveletskaya Square was made in the late 1990s. The work started in 2002-2003, but the investor had problems and in 2010s the construction was suspended. In 2018, the rights to the object were transferred to the group of companies "PIK". A five-storey underground multifunctional complex with a shopping center and a parking lot was erected on the square, and a landscaped park of 3 hectares was created.
The park has a light fountain and an open amphitheater. There are artificial hills and paths made of natural stone, deciduous and coniferous trees, bushes and lawns.
Now facade and finishing works, internal engineering systems, landscaping of the landscape park are being completed on Paveletskaya Square. The total construction readiness of the complex is 90%.
The reconstruction and landscaping of Paveletskaya Square is planned to be completed by the end of the year.
